Prayer time validation.

Assalamualaikum warah.
I really appreciate the initiative done by Aladhan Team. May Allah reward them in Jannah.

My question is let's say when I check prayer timing for Riyadh in Aladhan, the prayer timing is different than the timing showing on Google. Both are using umm Al Qura calculation method and 18.5 deg. Even when I check with other software there is a slight changes in the prayer timing that are generated by Aladhan api. Is there any specific reason or any parameters to be adjusted. Please let me know. Jazakallahu khairan.

I'm not sure what calculation or adjustment the other software is using, but the AlAdhan API calculation is based on https://github.com/islamic-network/prayer-times.

If you are using the ByCity or ByAddress endpoints, the co-ordinates might be different. There may be merit in trying the calculation with co-ordinates instead of the names of the cities to see if the timings match.

meezaan I also don't know what calculations and adjustments made by Google or other softwares. I am also using calculation by coordinates to get the prayer timings from this api. But Just wanted to know, if we have done any comparison of prayer timings of Makkah (21.3890824,39.8579118) using umm Al Qura method and 18.5 deg vs actual Makkah masjid timings. I have tried this, mostly it is same but some prayer timings are 1 min different. Please advise. Jazakallahu khairan

mohamedsalahpvm I'm not sure the 1 minute is worth investigating. If the difference is consistent, it could be caused by rounding up or down.
