I am Zainul Arkaan Al Insi, a software engineering student from Indonesia. I build MyQuran, an Android app for reading, learning and memorizing the Qur'an. It is my personal student project and also part of my school coursework.
I will publish the app on Google Play, and it will remain completely free: no fees, no ads, no subscriptions, no in-app purchases, no paid version, and no sale of user data. I receive no funding, sponsorship or payment of any kind from anyone for this app.
How the app uses your service:
- It streams per-ayah recitations from cdn.islamic.network when a user plays a verse (reciter chosen by the user, bitrate from your metadata).
- Users can also download a surah's ayah audio to their own phone for offline listening. Files stay on that device only. I never re-host, bundle or redistribute your audio.
- Nothing is cached on my own servers; each request goes straight to your CDN.
Terms I commit to (I will gladly follow any conditions you set):
- Attribution: "Audio: Islamic Network CDN (alquran.cloud)" plus the reciter's name, on the app's "Sources & licences" page and in the reciter list.
- No modification: recordings are played as delivered, never edited or mixed.
- No redistribution: no re-hosting and no bundling of audio in the APK.
- Free and non-commercial: the app stays free on Google Play and everywhere else; any change would need new permission first.
- Fair use of the CDN: requests happen only on user action. No bulk scraping, no prefetching.
- Withdrawal: if you ask me to stop, the source is removed within 14 days.
- No endorsement: no claim that Islamic Network endorses the app.
Could you kindly confirm this use is acceptable, and let me know the attribution wording you prefer?
