I hope this message finds you well, insha'Allah.
My name is Mohammed Hamza, and I'm the developer of Nurafiq, a free Android app for listening to, reading, and memorizing the Quran, along with prayer times, Qibla direction, and other daily-use Islamic features — built mainly for Bengali-speaking Muslims. The app has no ads and is not monetized; it's built purely as a form of Dawah.
We're currently using your AlQuran.cloud CDN for Quran recitation audio, and really appreciate the clear licensing terms you've published — specifically that recitations are licensed to you directly by the reciters or their estates for redistribution, including in commercial products. It's rare to find that kind of clarity, and it made integrating your service straightforward and worry-free.
I noticed your AlAdhan.com site also hosts a small collection of adhan (call to prayer) recordings, but the terms there note that those files "retain their respective copyrights" rather than being licensed to you for redistribution the way your Quran recitations are.
I wanted to ask directly: do you have, or would you be able to arrange, an adhan recording under a similar reciter-granted redistribution license — one we could responsibly bundle into Nurafiq, the same way we're already using your Quran audio? We'd love to include the call to prayer as a feature, but only with a recording we know is properly licensed, and given your track record here, you seemed like the right place to ask.
Happy to follow whatever attribution or conditions you'd prefer, and glad to provide more detail about the app if helpful.
JazakAllahu Khairan for the work you've already done — it's clearly benefited many, and we hope to continue that through Nurafiq as well.
Wassalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,
Mohammed Hamza
