Hello AlAdhan Team, Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh
I’m currently developing an Islamic Android application "Digital Tasbih" (name not finalized yet) that includes features such as prayer times, Qibla, Quran, duas, Islamic calendar, Salah tracking, and Adhan notifications.
I came across the Adhan recordings available on your “Download Adhans” page and would like to ask for permission to include them in my application as selectable Adhan alarm/notification sounds.
The recordings would be bundled directly inside the Android application rather than streamed from a server, allowing the Adhan to play reliably even when the user is offline.
The recordings I’m interested in are:
Mishary Rashid Alafasy — Yet Another Adhan
Ahmad Al-Nafees
Hafiz Mustafa Özcan — Turkey
Karl Jenkins — Mass for Peace arrangement
Mishary Rashid Alafasy — Dubai’s One TV version
Mishary Rashid Alafasy — another version
Mansour Al-Zahrani
I understand from your credits information that these audio recordings are owned by their respective copyright holders.
Could you please confirm whether I have permission to include these recordings inside a published Android application?
I would also appreciate clarification on the following:
Is offline distribution of these recordings inside the APK permitted?
Is permission required from the individual copyright holders as well?
Are there any restrictions on converting or compressing the audio files for Android?
What attribution should I provide for AlAdhan and each respective recording/copyright holder?
Are there any additional licensing requirements if the app contains advertisements or optional premium features?
I’m happy to display the required credits inside the app and in any relevant documentation, and I will follow any licensing or attribution requirements you specify.
I would appreciate your confirmation before using the recordings in the production release of the application.
Thank you for providing these resources to developers and for your work on AlAdhan.
Best regards,
Abdul Quadir Qureshi
