Transliteration error in Surah Al-A'raf – Verse 7:129

I would like to report a transliteration error in Surah Al-A'raf, verse 129 (7:129).

In the current transliteration, the following part appears as:

“'asaa Rabbukum ai yuhlika...”

However, the Arabic text is:

عَسَىٰ رَبُّكُمْ أَن يُهْلِكَ

Therefore, أَن (an) should be transliterated as “an”, not “ai”.

The correct transliteration should therefore be:

“'asaa Rabbukum an yuhlika 'aduwwakum...”

Could you please correct this in the transliteration data/API?

However, this is not an error. This is how the pronunciation is done. When the ن as a ْ (sukoon) it is followed by a ي, then it becomes ai-yu, not an-yu. You can also hear the recitation on https://alquran.cloud/ayah/7:129.

However, while checking the transliteration data further, I found another issue that seems to be an actual error.

Please tell me you are not using AI to identify issues with Qur'an data. That's the wrong use of the tooling.

No, I’m not using AI to identify or verify issues in Qur’an data. I completely understand your concern, and I agree that AI should not be relied upon as an authority for determining what is correct in the Qur’an.

The issues I mentioned are things I noticed myself while reviewing/using the data. I only used Claude to help organize and present the examples more clearly, not to determine whether the Qur’anic text or pronunciation was correct.

For any potential issue, I compare it with reliable Qur’an sources and recitations before reporting it.

dhikri-app Had a quick scan at a few, but at all of them. They all suffer from the same flaw as above - whatever or whoever is conducting this activity does not understand Arabic phonetics.
