I'm the developer of Shafaq (package: com.shafaq.app), a prayer-times and adhan-notification Android app. The app is completely free — no advertisements, no in-app purchases, no subscriptions, no monetization of any kind. Every feature, including the adhan notification sound itself, is fully available to every user with no restriction.
I saw discussions #266 and #268, where @gokboru kindly confirmed there's no restriction from Islamic Network's side on using the recordings from the Download Adhans page, that no attribution is required, and that copyright still rests with the individual mu'adhins.
Since our app is stricter than both cases already answered (no ads at all, not even ad-supported), I wanted to ask separately rather than assume the same answer applies automatically:
Can we take the same confirmation given in #266/#268 as covering Shafaq specifically, given we're fully free with no advertising whatsoever?
We'd like to bundle a small selection of the recordings (not necessarily all of them) as selectable adhan notification sounds inside the app, shipped in the APK for offline reliability.
Even though attribution isn't required, we'll credit Islamic Network / AlAdhan.com in the app's content-sources screen regardless — happy to use whatever credit line you prefer, or our own wording if you have none.
We understand and will note internally that copyright remains with the individual mu'adhins, and if any reciter or publisher ever reaches out about a specific recording, we'll respect that immediately.
