One Ummah Platform

Asalamu Alaikom, I have a degree in computer science and cyber security. I would like to contribute to the ummah, with what i do best, i have experience with Websites, Automation, ETL and much more, specifically within AWS.

My Idea is this, A Platform, that focuses on location-based, the platform will show the user Masjids near one, along with any information regarding that. That is one use case. The other is usecase is for mosques without a Website for the mosques or without islamic school platform, to use this as a platform to setup the masjid, as either a Public Website, Islamic School Intranet, or a private internal website for the members and board members.

When i said location-based, it meant that any public information posted on the platform, would be available to any users within the same country, or a approx of the posted location.

I post here to get some feedback, is this idea totally off? Should i focus on something else? Could it be improved in any otherway? Jazakom Allahu Khair

I will for sure make something that contributes In Shaa Allah, it's just about what.

3laykum salaam samirali and thak you for sharing your ideas. Many of these platforms exist in several countries, but the challenge becomes maintaing (initial population is always easy) accurate data, especially for the list of mosques.

Building platforms for masajid also something that was done as part of Islamic Network for almost 5 years (via masjidproject.org), but this became unsustainable because people who sign up to build a mosque website are barely able to operate something as simple as WordPress. This means it requires a lot of time from the maintainer of the platform to maintain individual websites, etc.

No idea is off, but ideas are easy to have, and it's even easy to start things, but to keep them growing takes real grit, and shutting things down means those who were relying on it for free have to struggle more than if it did not exist in the first place.
