Yes, the APIs rate limit by source IP on a per second basis.
The services are currently available across 3 regions and calls are redirected using GeoDNS.
For the AlAdhan API, each IP is allowed approximately 12 requests per second. If you breach this limit, you will receive an HTTP 429.
For the AlQuran API, each IP is allowed approximately 10 requests per second. If you breach this limit, you will receive an HTTP 429.
There is a further cumulative limit of 70 requests every 7 seconds. If you breach this limit, your requests will timeout for the remainder of the 7 seconds. This limit also applies to the Islamic Network CDN.
The rate limits cannot be changed.
