Our React Native app is not able to get Data

We have a React Native application used in Malaysia that displays the Quran. The app consumes the https://api.alquran.cloud/v1/surah API to fetch and display Surah data.

Since few days, the application has stopped displaying any Quran data and the screen appears blank. However, when we access the same API endpoint via a web browser or through a Node.js script, the data is returned successfully.

Could you please help us understand the possible causes of this issue specific to the React Native environment (for example, network restrictions, zstd limit, SSL/TLS issues, CORS, API changes, or rate limiting)? Additionally, please advise what changes or safeguards we can implement to ensure this issue is resolved at the earliest and prevented in the future.

At the moment, the Quran content is not loading in the app, so this is a high-priority issue. Someones assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Someone else identified a little while ago the issue with the response being compressed by default due to a change made last week. This is now been rectified and may resolve your issue.

As you will see in the response, you're getting content encoding zstd - if you can't handle that, you may not see the response. But this should no longer be the case, so if this was the reason, it will be resolved now.
